Gymnastics Year 5 -8 Elements to a sequence

As in all units, pupils develop physical, social, emotional and thinking whole child objectives.
In this unit, pupils create longer sequences individually, with a partner and a small group.  They make up longer, more complex sequences, including contrasting actions, shapes, balances and dynamics; easily adapt sequences from one situation to another; take the lead in a group when preparing a sequence for performance to an audience. The children practise and refine their own work to show clear individual movements and transfer smoothly from one movement to another. Children are given opportunities to receive and provide feedback in order to make improvements on their performances. In Gymnastics as a whole, children develop performance skills considering the quality and control of their actions.
