The Additional Resourced Provision (ARP)

Autism

In September, in partnership with the Local Authority, we will be opening an Additional Resourced Provision (ARP) for children with autism. This is an exciting development and a recognition of the good work we are doing here at Eldon supporting children with autism. The places in the provision will be allocated by the Local Authority via the ‘Education and Healthcare Plan’ route.

What is an Additional Resourced Provision (ARP)?

ARP is an umbrella term that covers a wide range of provision where the Local Authority contracts resources over and above those allocated to all schools and settings. This is in order to promote inclusion and increase the Local Authority's capacity to meet the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and/or Disability (SEND).  ARP’s meet the Special Educational Needs of children who require more support than a mainstream school can provide, but less support than a Special school provides.
