Our Approach to Safeguarding

At Eldon Primary School, safeguarding is the foundation of everything we do. We are committed to creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment where every child feels valued, protected and able to flourish. We believe that safeguarding is everyone's responsibility and that children learn best when they feel secure, happy and supported.

Our Safeguarding Pillars

1. Safe and Supportive Relationships
Positive relationships are at the heart of our school. We ensure every child is known, cared for and has trusted adults they can turn to when they need help or support.

2. Prevention and Education
Through our curriculum, assemblies and daily interactions, we teach children how to keep themselves safe, look after their wellbeing, build healthy relationships and navigate both the online and offline world confidently.

3. Early Identification and Intervention
We are vigilant in recognising when children may need additional support. Concerns are acted upon promptly, and we work proactively to ensure children and families receive the help they need at the earliest opportunity.

4. Skilled and Accountable Adults
All staff, governors and volunteers receive regular safeguarding training and understand their responsibility to protect children. Clear systems and strong leadership ensure that safeguarding remains a priority across all aspects of school life.

5. Partnership with Families and Agencies
Effective safeguarding is built on collaboration. We work closely with parents, carers and external agencies to provide coordinated support and achieve the best outcomes for every child.

Children's voices are listened to and valued, staff feel confident to raise concerns, and safeguarding is woven into everyday practice.
