We are committed to providing quality education for children to reach their full potential and achieve success. We are here to ensure all children feel valued and secure in their classes. We want Year 2 to be a friendly, welcoming year group where the children feel happy and safe.
We will be using the indoor and outdoor area to learn. Children will work as part of a small group and as part of a whole class. We plan for our children’s learning through topics.
This half-term Year 2 enjoyed taking part in Sports Day. They took part in loads of different events such as javelin, ladders and egg and spoon race. It was a lovely, hot day but the Year 2 children behaved very well and had an amazing time. Year 6 children helped them to learn about the different events. What amazing helpers they were!
This half-term some of our Year 2 children have been taking part in Gymnastics Club. They have been learning a range of gymnastics skills and having a great time. Have a look at their amazing skills.
This half-term Year 2 have been learning about Baptism. They have made sculptures of the features of a Baptism out Play-Doh and Lego, acted out the story of Jesus’ Baptism as well as learning the origins of their own names. The next time you visit Year 2 you might meet ‘Beautiful Plum’, ‘Moonbeam’ or ‘Water of Life’!
To celebrate the end of end of year 2 children will be invited to enjoy a fun on the field event. More details to follow.
Year 2 will become Year 3. We’ll miss them In Year 2 but we are sure they will have an amazing time in Year 3. What a brilliant year group they have been!
This half-term Year 2 have been learning all about Traditional Tales. We have learnt to write famous traditional tales like The Three Little Pigs and Goldilocks as well as writing our own versions of both of these stories. In some of stories, Goldilocks got to meet The Big Bad Wolf, The Evil Queen or Cinderella and Prince Charming. Year 2 are turning into amazing authors. What superb writing they have done!
This half-term Year 2 have brought their favourite traditional tales characters to life; by creating amazing sculptures using clay. They created their own designs, made and painted them and have put them on display in their classrooms. Year 2 are becoming inspirational artists and designers. This half-term Year 2 have been learning to spell tricky words. They have been using a range of techniques to help them ensure their amazing writing is also accompanied by superb spelling. This half-term Year 2 have been performing breathtaking assemblies in front of packed crowds. They have told their own versions of Traditional Tales like Goldilocks, Little Red Riding Hood and The True Story of the Three Little Pigs. Year 2 will be learning all about dinosaurs. We’ll be writing dinosaur poetry, inventing our own dinosaurs and writing all about them, creating our own dinosaurs and learning all about the history of palaeontology (that’s the study of fossils). The fire-fighter visited Year2 and discussed the importance of fire safety in the home. She went through a range of ways to stay safe and the steps you need to take if there was a fire.
