Aspiration, Determination, Success

In Nursery the teachers are:

Ms Zoe

Ms Maria

In Nursery classes we enjoy learning and playing together. We follow the Early Years curriculum.

Each half term we have a ‘theme’ in which the learning is focused around:

Autumn 1 – Rhymes and Patterns

Autumn 2 – Once Upon a Time

Spring 1 – Animals

Spring 2 – Food around the World

Summer 1 – Growing Plants

Summer 2 – Wonderful World of Water

Limes Nursery and Oaks Nursery

This term we focused on Maths - counting, measurement, comparing size and capacity.
The children enjoyed making beanstalks using wooden blocks and unifix cubes. They worked as a team and felt so proud of their achievements.

We read “Jack And The Beanstalk” and “Jasper’s Beanstalk”. We grew our own beanstalks. Children were able to retell the story and take part on a role play with their peers.

We continued practising our phonics sounds - Phase 1 & Phase 2.

During writing assessment week, we looked at different materials and children enjoyed drawing their favourite part of the story.

This half term in Nursery we have focussed on settling the children back into the routine. We have looked at Food from Around the World including reading the book Baby goes to Market by Atinuke. We are now learning outside lots more as the weather is improving.

We have started to look at letters and the sound these letters make. We have been practising writing some of these letters too.

Next half term our topic will be Growing Plants.
