In terrific Twos and Rising Threes:
We look for toys when they are hidden under a blanket
We can sort out my toys and things so that all the same ones are together
We start to say mixed up number names during our play
We try to put shape pieces into a jigsaw board and sometimes match the right piece into the right hole
We build towers and long lines across the floor with bricks
We know the order I need to use things to help me get ready at bedtime or to get dressed
We know that when we see adults with coats we are going outside
When we see cups and bowls on the table we know it is time to have a drink and something to eat
Count with children as you put their clothes on, like “one sock, two socks” or “one button, two buttons, three buttons, four buttons”
Let children explore what “full” and “empty” looks like when they are playing in the bath with plastic bottles
Let children play with puzzles that and try to put the pieces into the matching spaces
