Understanding the World

Understanding the World

Understanding the world covers three areas; people and communities, the world and technology. In this area, children learn all about themselves, their families, friends and other cultures, and the world around them. Children recognise similarities and differences in relation to places, objects, materials and living things and can talk about features of their own immediate environment and how environments might vary. They make observations of animals and plants, explaining why some things occur, and talk about changes. Children recognise that a range of technology is used in places such as homes and schools and select and use technology for particular purposes.

Bubbles

We are exploring how to blow a good bubble using straws. We noticed that the straw must be under water to blow a good bubble. We blew bubbles that were bigger than our heads!
