On Monday 10th October 4 children from the Infants and 4 children from the Juniors attended a special trip, with Miss Hussein and Mrs Bathija, to the White Hart Lane stadium as part of the Team up to be Champions project sponsored by a charity.

Children are demonstrating how to use the sole of their feet to control the ball. They then use the inside of their feet to slow the ball down.
Mobility training is used to increase balance and speed of thought.
In P.E This half term we have been looking at balancing and we created different balances using different body parts in groups and on our own, we then tried some of these balances out on the equipment.
Children are learning different ways of traveling with the ball. Here are some examples of when the ball is used to travel over the head in order for their partner to receive it.
This is repeated but instead the ball is passed through under their legs and then swivel pass the ball to their partner.
In March we all raised money for Sport Relief by running or walking a mile around the field.
The school raised £542!
A teacher from Oasis Hadley has been working with our Year 1 and 2 pupils on multi skills to select a team for a cluster event at the secondary school. Some Year 5 children have been trained to support with this.
Ms Gardiner, the secondary teacher from Oasis Academy Hadley, said,
"The leaders who I have worked with have been amazing and a credit to your school"
Thanks to Ms Gardiner for all of her hard work with our children over the year.
We had an amazing time playing in a tournament at Tottenham Hotspur’s training ground. We developed our skills against other teams and had great fun too.
We had lots of fun at the Spring Pentathlon event at the Lee Valley athletics centre. We were able to play lots of different games and use lots of different equipment. We practised aiming and throwing at a target.
In Reception we created a dance based on ‘The Jungle Book.’ The children moved like different animals.
We have been working in pairs, practising throwing at catching the ball. We have practised throwing the ball up in the air and catching it. We have practised rolling the ball accurately.
In Reception gymnastics we have been looking at travelling. We thought of different ways of travelling on the mats.
We then started to travel on the apparatus. We thought about how we could use different body parts.
In our gymnastics topics ‘balance’ and ‘parts high and low’ we have been exploring different ways of moving on the apparatus.
In Year 2 we have been developing our throwing and catching skills. We have been working on developing our aim and coordination. We are now able to throw and catch while playing different games.
Activ8 is an action packed day of sports including football, basketball, hockey, cricket, netball and much more. Our aim is for children to have lots of fun whilst also working on their key sporting skills and team work.
Children will need to bring a packed lunch each day and lots of drinks to keep hydrated (no fizzy drinks please).
Children will be supervised by 3 excellent members of the First Kicks coaching team.

On Monday 1st December 2014 children from Year One and Year two represented the Infant School at the Enfield Schools’ Gymnastics Festival at Southbury Leisure Centre. They took part in the Key Stage One and Beginners category. The children had to perform a floor routine and vault routine. Some of these skills were very difficult, but all their hard work paid off with an excellent result of taking second place in the competition. Well done!
